Estherville – Funeral services for Florence M. Greig, 98, of Estherville will be held at 2 p.m. today, June 10 at the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville with the Rev. Willis Longer officiating. P.E.O. graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. She died on Saturday, June 8 at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville. The family requests memorials be given.

She was born on April 6, 1898 in Estherville, the daughter of Gail H. and Margaret (Neville) Morse. She graduated from Estherville High School. She then attended the Minneapolis School of Music and later the Margaret Morrison Carnegie School in Pittsburg, Pa. After her schooling, she did secretarial work in Washington, D.C. and then worked for a political campaign in Chicago before returning to Estherville in 1920 where she worked in the accounting department for the Rock Island Railroad till her marriage.

She was united in marriage to John E. Greig on November 10, 1921 in Estherville. After their marriage, the couple made their home in Estherville. In 1936 they moved to their farm east of Estherville where she lived until entering the Good Samaritan Center this May.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, P.E.O., Eastern Star and VFW Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Soroity and served on the Gas Rationing Board during World War II.

She is survived by two sons, Hugh Greig of Estherville; John Greig of Estherville; three grandchildren, Will Greig, Joe Greig and Mrs. (John) Susan Wedebrand; two great grandchildren; and one brother, Gail H. Morse of Rye, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one infant daughter, her parents, one sister and four brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 10, 1996)
