Estherville – Services for Maud Eloise Frey, 89, of rural Estherville, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Hansen officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. She died Thursday, June 25, 1992 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. Sunday.

She was born Feb. 20, 1903 at Estherville, the daughter of Walter and Mary Etta (Allen) Lucas. She attended Estherville Schools and graduated from High School in 1922. She lived all her life in the Estherville area and had worked for the telephone company 15 years before her marriage to Simon Frey on June 15, 1937 in Union Baptist Church, Estherville. Following marriage the couple moved to Maple Hill and farmed; they moved to a farm north of Estherville in 1944. The couple was actively involved in organizing churches. She was a founding member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School many years.

Survivors include two daughters: Carol Frey, Estherville and Mrs. William (Ellen) Hansen, Lima Peru.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 2, 1983; parents; and 10 brothers and sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 27, 1992)
