Wm. Freed Passes Away
Found Dead in Bed Yesterday Morning; Had Lived Here 30 Years
William Henry Freed passed away Wednesday [July 14, 1943] morning about noon. He suffered a heart attack Sunday and was taken to the Park View Clinic. He was released from the Clinic Tuesday. He was 78 years old. He was found at his home by his daughter, Mrs. Helen Johnson. He had been dead but a short time when he was found.

Mr. Freed was born in Illinois. He lived at Graettinger and Ruthven and for more than 30 years has made his home in Estherville.

Surviving him are three daughters, Mrs. Helen Johnson of Estherville; Ruth of Michigan; and Mrs. Charles Drew of Chicago; and four sons, William Freed, Jr., of Estherville, and Lawrence, Clarence and Floyd of Chicago, and several brothers and sisters.

It is expected that the funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon from Sternborg’s funeral home, although word has not been received from all the members of the family. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, July 15, 1943)
