Gilbert Fisher, Retired Railroad Man, Dies at 69
Gilbert Milton Fisher, 69, longtime Estherville resident and retired railroad man, died 2:10 p.m. yesterday at the Fisher home. Death was attributed o cancer and he had been bedfast for about three months.Fisher was born Mar. 6, 1880 at Webster City and received his education there. On Jan.14, 1902, he was married to Emma K. Arp at Spirit Lake. The couple moved to Estherville about 27 years ago and the Fishers have made their home here ever since. He was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife; four sons: Glenn, Harold, Harry and David Fisher, all of Estherville; six daughters: Mrs. Ernest Houts, of Estherville, Mrs. Ernest Erne of Terril, Mrs. Norman Syverson of Wallingford, Mrs. Gordon Rick of Estherville, Mrs. Harold Thompson of Webster City and Mrs. Harold Spoo of Lakefield, Minn.; three brothers, Jack and Fred of Estherville and Charles of Webster City; and two sisters, Mrs. Mame Young and Mrs. Roxie Bond of Drumwright, Okla., as well as 29 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
His parents, one daughter, and two brothers preceded him in death.
