Mrs. Emma Fisher Dies; Servicers 2 p.m. Saturday
Mrs. Emma Fisher, 90, died at 10 p.m. Sept. 5 in Good Samaritan Center, Estherville.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Ronald Flentgen officiating. Burial will be made in Oak Hill Cemetery.
She was born March 3, 1883, in Wheatland to Mr. and Mrs. Hans Arp and educated in Wheatland schools. In 1904, she was married to Gilbert Fisher in Spirit Lake. After their marriage, they lived in Wilton Junction until 1920, when they moved to Estherville. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Estherville.
Survivors include her four sons, Glen, Harold, Harry and Donald Fisher, all of Estherville; five daughters, Mrs. Florence Ern, Arnolds Park, Mrs. Norman (Velma) Syverson, Dunnell, Minn., Mrs. Gordon (Verla) Rick, Estherville, Mrs. Harold (Hattie) Thompson, St. Louis, Mo., and Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Spoo, Lakefield, MInn., and a granddaughter whom she had raised, Mrs. Richard Thorsland; also 38 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters, four brothers and one sister.
Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, after 10 a.m. Friday and until time of services Saturday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 6, 1973)
