Funeral services for Cecile Larson, 85, who died Thursday, January 5, 1989 at her home in Estherville, will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Estherville's First Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Besore II officiating. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Henry-Olson Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville on Monday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Cecile Mae Larson was born November 24, 1903 to Charles and Jennie (Green) Iseminger at Denison, Iowa. She first attended school in Denison and when her parents moved to Spirit Lake while she was still a young girl, completed her formal education in the Spirit Lake schools. While still living at home, she moved with her parents to a farm northeast of Superior and later to a farm south west of Estherville. On March 18, 1924 she married Levi Larson in Estherville. The couple farmed in the Estherville area until moving into the city in 1974. Mrs. Larson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Brown Creek Club.

Survivors include two sons: Maurice Larson of Estherville and David Larson of Afton; five daughters: Mrs. Leonard (Arlene) Zitterich of Terril, Mrs. Merwyn (Delores) Shorey of Milford, Mrs. Kenneth (Ardis) Pilquist of Estherville, Mrs. Omer (Lois) Quastad of Estherville, and Mrs. George (Barbara) Johnson of Estherville; a sister, Mrs. Alga Klein of Estherville; twenty-eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Levi; a grandson, Bryan Johnson; her parents, three sisters, and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January, 1989)
