Irene E. Cooklin Rites Are Pending
Irene E. Cooklin, Estherville, died about 7 p.m. March 12, 1973, following a heart attack at her home.Funeral arrangements are pending at Reese-Henry Funeral Home in Estherville.
She was born March 1, 1925, in Frazee, Minn., to Otto and Ida Buendiger Rick. On July 14, 1956, she was married to Bert Cooklin in Fairmont, Minn. At the time of her death she was residing in Estherville where she was employed by Wadco Foods, Inc. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Estherville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 13, 1973)
Irene Cooklin Services Set for Thursday
Funeral services for Irene E. Cooklin, Estherville, who died March 12, 1973, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Reese-Henry Chapel, Estherville. The Rev. H. Allen Wirtz will officiate at services, followed by interment at Oak Hill Cemetery.In the obituary printed yesterday her husband, Bert Cooklin, was erroneously listed among those preceding her in death. The list of survivors should have read:
Survivors include her husband, Bert, five sons and three daughters, Larry Brix, Linda Brix Olson, Vickie Brix Schwidder, George Brix, Robert Brix, Mark Cooklin, Kim Cooklin and Brian Cooklin; four grandchildren; and a sister and two brothers, LaVerne Edmunds, Gordon Rick and Johnny Rick.
