CLARK - Jonas Clark died at the home of Hiram Barrett, his brother-in-law in this city, Saturday morning August 29th.

Jonas Clark was born in Potter County Penn., April 26th, 1837. He moved to Estherville in 1863. In 1876 he moved to Missouri. He remained in Missouri sixteen years and then returning to Estherville. He leaves a wife and nine children. He died at the residence of Hiram Barrett his brother-in-law on Saturday morning, August 29th, 1896. Aged 59 years, 4 months and 3 days. His funeral was held from the same residence on Sunday afternoon at2 o'clock , conducted by Rev. H. G. Pittinger of the M. E. Church. His remains were laid at rest in the Old Cemetery North East of this city. [East Side](Semi-Weekly Northern Vindicator, Estherville, Iowa, September 1, 1896)
