Funeral services for Elmer Bringle were held Saturday from the residence at 1:30 o'clock and at Estherville at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Mather, his pastor for many years, had charge of the services. Burial was made in Oak Hill Cemetery. The church was overflowing with sorrowing friends and neighbors. Silent expressions of sympathy were the many beautiful flowers which banked the alter rail and covered the casket.
Elmer was the fourth son of Jacob A. and Belle (Herbrandson) Bringle. He was born February 12, 1900, on the farm northeast of Superior, where his parents still reside, and grew to manhood there. At an early age he attended parochial school at the old State Line Lutheran Church and was confirmed in the faith. When he attained manhood he went to Estherville where he had employment. In June 1928 he was united in marriage to Ann Christian of Estherville. The family lived in Estherville until three years ago last November when Elmer purchased a grocery and meat market in Superior, and the family moved there.
Elmer had not been in the best of health for some time. Soon after the holidays he suffered a severe attack of flu which left him in a very weakened condition. The Friday previous to his passing he was taken to Rochester, Minn., to the Mayo Clinic with the hope he would receive help. Saturday evening he became much worse and was taken to the Worrel hospital where he was given every care. But he failed to rally and late Tuesday afternoon he quietly slipped from worldly cares to the arms of his Saviour. His wife and brother, Albert, were at his bedside when the call came. Besides his wife he is survived by two small children, Dale and Chyrl, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Bringle, five brothers, Albert, of Taylor, Wis.; Arthur and Elwin of Estherville; Luke and Clair, of Superior; two sisters, Mrs. Beulah Reiley of Estherville and Margaret Bringle, at home; nieces and nephews. Two brother, Maurice, and a baby brother preceded him in death.
Those from out of town attending last rites were; Rev. Albert Bringle and family of Taylor, Wis.. Mr. and Mrs. Hans Jorgensen of Madelia, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Carl Christian, Mrs. Hazel Wedoo of Fairmont, Minn., Gilbert Christian of Mason City, Mrs. Charles Christian, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Christian, Mr. and Mrs. Milford Christian, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Engholm, all of Rindsted, Mr. and Mrs. Harvy Webber of Gruver, Beth Bringle of Spirit Lake.
