Services for Minnie Harvey, 81, will be held today at 2 p.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. John Besore officiating. Interment will be at the East Side Cemetery in Estherville. Harvey died Saturday [July 31, 1993] at the Rosewood Manor Nursing Home. Visitation was Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home.
Harvey was born Feb. 14, 1912 in Armstrong, the daughter of John and Anna (Blossy) Campbell. She moved with her parents to Rhinelander, Wisc., as a young child and returned to Iowa in 1923. She graduated from Gruver High School in 1929.
Harvey later married Edward Harvey on Dec. 19, 1940 in Fort Dodge. The couple later moved to Gruver, where she was employed by the Gruver School District from 1962 to 1967 as a cook. Mr. Harvey died in 1982.
She was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Gruver, teaching Sunday school for 30 years, church treasurer for many years and a member of the UPW. Minnie served on the Gruver Town Council for 1944 to 1946. She enjoyed all kinds of craft work, knitting, crocheting, quilting and sewing.
She is survived by her sons, Don of Cleveland, Ohio, and Dean of Colts Neck, N.J.; her brother Robert Campbell of Estherville; her sisters, Alvina Grems of Estherville and Virginia Clark of Estherville and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 2, 1993)
