Estherville – Services for Thomas Alexander Hamilton, 67, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tom Balm officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1987 at his home.Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Masonic service was held Friday evening at the funeral home.
He was born June 14, 1920 at Buffalo Center, the son of Thomas J. and Gertrude (Wilson) Hamilton. He lived in Buffalo Center and Cylinder before moving to Estherville in 1933. He graduated from Estherville High School in 1937, attended Estherville Junior College for two years and after serving with the United States Marine Corps during World War Two he attended Iowa State College at Ames. On Aug. 25, 1946 he was united in marriage with Dorothy Sharp at Spirit Lake. He worked for Golden Sun Feeds and the Soo Valley Co. until 1957 when he went to work for John Morrell & Co. where he worked as an accountant and credit manager until 1974 then retired due to poor health.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, Estherville; one son, Thomas Hamilton, Ceylon, Minn. and one daughter, Mrs. Terry (Lori) Eike, Fairmont, Minn.; two grandchildren, one brother, William, Minneapolis and one sister, Mrs. C. Donald (Dawn) Howell, Tempe, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 5, 1987)
