Estherville – Services for Ralph O. [Otto] Borchers, 94, of Estherville will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville with Pastor Glenn Balmer officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. He died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1993 at Good Samaritan Center. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Oct. 30, 1899 in Cole Camp, Mo., the son of Herman and Bertha (Miller) Borchers and attended Cole Camp schools. On Dec.24, 1925 he married Kathryn Lippert at Algona. Following marriage the couple farmed the family farm in Twelve Mile Lake Township. They moved into Estherville in 1979. He became a resident at Good Samaritan in 1989. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church; a past township trustee and board member at the Wallingford Co-op Elevator.

Survivors include one son, Romaine of rural Estherville; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Brady of Bedford, Texas; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers: Elmer of Estherville and Earl of Cole Camp, Mo., and one sister, Ruth Bauer of Cole Camp.

He was preceded by his wife Kathryn in Nov., 1980; two grandsons, parents and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 11, 1993)
