Rural Estherville Man’s Services Set Tuesday
Estherville – Claude Vernon Wright, 84, of rural Estherville, died in Holy Family Hospital Saturday morning, May 11.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Reese-Henry Chapel with the Rev. R.B. Flentgen officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery with military graveside rites. Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, until noon on Tuesday.

Mr. Wright was born July 1, 1889 at Florence, Kan., to Mr. and Mrs. William B. Wright. He was married to Clara Bleckwenn on Feb. 23, 1921 at Fenton. They farmed in the Fairville and Depew area until moving to a farm northeast of Estherville in 1941. He was a veteran of World War I.

Surviving is his wife, Clara of rural Estherville; four sons, Donald, Kermit, Melvin and Norman John, all of Estherville; two daughters, Beverly Wright of Estherville and Mrs. Michael (Dorothy) Hanrahan, Des Moines; seven grandchildren; one brother, Forest Wright of Indianola; and one sister, Mrs. Harry Willey of Creston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and five sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 13, 1974)
