Mrs. Knut Johnson and daughter, Mrs. Cliff Halleck, received a message Monday morning stating that their son and brother, James Johnson and wife, of Danvers, Minn., had been found dead in bed. The cause of the deaths at this writing is not known as no particulars to the case was stated in the message. Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Halleck left on the morning train for Danvers. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, January 30, 1918)

Mrs. Cliff Halleck and mother, Mrs. Knut Johnson, returned Tuesday morning from Danvers, Minn., where they had been attending the funeral of their brother and son, James Johnson and wife. The cause of this couples’ death is not known but the supposition is that they were asphyxiated. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, February 6, 1918)
