Duayne Weaver
Duayne Weaver, 79, Spirit Lake, formerly of Estherville, died Sunday, June 19, 1988 at the Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn. Services were 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 22 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Philip Covert officiating.

He was born July 3, 1908 in Independence County, Kansas to Cyrus and Etta (Thompson) Weaver. He attended Fort Dodge schools. On June 2, 1933 he was married to Bernice Howard in Webster City. The couple moved to Estherville in 1937 where he was employed at Tobin Meat Packing Company and later by John Morrell and Co. until his retirement in 1971. The couple made their home in Spirit Lake since then.

Weaver was a member of the Fort Dodge Riverside Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice, Spirit Lake; a daughter, Mrs. Gilbert (Bonnie) Amdahl, Estherville; and a son, Richard and his wife, Linda, Estherville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Burt (Esther) Davis, Loveland, Colo., and Mrs. Helene Armstrong, Fort Dodge; and one brother, Jack B. Weaver, Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and three brothers.

Burial was in East Side Cemetery, Estherville with Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, June 30, 1988)
