Rites Tuesday for Guy Webber of Estherville
Funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Reese-Henry Chapel in Estherville for Guy R. Webber, 89, Estherville, who died at 9:17 p.m. Friday [June 26, 1970] evening at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.He had been a resident of the Center for the past five years.
Mr. Webber was born Aug. 19, 1880, on a farm in Franklin County to Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Webber. He was educated in the Franklin County schools.
As a young man he was employed by the railroad in southern Iowa and moved to Dickinson County in 1917. He farmed in the Superior area until the late 1920’s when he moved to Estherville. After moving to Estherville, he was a rural newspaper carrier for many years.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. James Smith and Mrs. Vera Stockdale both of Iowa Falls.
The Rev. Robert Karl Miller will officiate at the final rites and burial will be in East Side Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Chapel until time of services.
Bearers are Louis Obye, William Carrison, Lafe Bell, Frank DeMoss, Otis Haukoos and Richard Zitterich. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 29, 1970)
