Rites Pending for Edgar Warrington
Edgar Warrington died suddenly at his home in Wallingford Sunday evening. He was an employee of the Estherville Post Office.Services are pending at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home in Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 4, 1971)
E.L. Warrington Rites Thursday
Edgar Lester Warrington, 57, Wallingford, died at 7:30 Sunday at his home in Wallingford. He was born Jan. 25, 1913, at Valley Junction to Mr. and Mrs. G.C. Warrington. He moved to Estherville with his parents in 1916 and lived in Estherville until 1958, when he moved to Wallingford. He attended Estherville schools, graduating from Estherville High School and Estherville Junior College.On Aug. 5, 1934, he married Verda Pratt at Spencer.
He was a veteran of WWII, and for the past 17 years had been employed at the U.S. Post Office at Estherville. He was baptized in the Baptist Church, and was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife, Verda; two sons, Randy at home and Edgar, Jr., Blue Earth, Minn.; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Karen) McCoy, Grand Mound; and nine grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Sylvia Warrington, Estherville; two sisters, Mrs. Ward Linn, Fairmont, Minn.; Mrs. Bill Calhoun, Stockport; and two brothers, John, Lexington, Ky., and Orris, Phoenix, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Estherville with the Rev. H. Allen Wirtz officiating. Burial will be in EastSide Cemetery with military graveside services.
Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home at Estherville after 7 p.m. Tuesday until noon on Thursday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 5, 1971)
