Blast is fatal for E’ville Resident
By Ken Dawson, Staff Writer
The explostion Thursday night of an air tank in the air compressor department of Style Craft, Inc., of Milford took the life of 51 year-old Estherville resident Bob Trosin.

Style Craft president Bob Reed said the accident occurred a little after 8:00 p.m. when Trosin and fellow maintenance worker Dave Schwaller, Milford, were working on equipment. Though the two were standing side-by-side, Schwaller only received minor injuries.

Trosin was transported to the Dickinson County Hospital. A helicopter was dispatched from the Marion Health Center in Sioux City, but Trosin expired before it arrived. Schwaller was also taken to the Dickinson County Hospital where he was treated and released.

There was some slight damage to the interior of the shop. Reed said it is still not known what caused the explosion and the matter is under investigation.

“We’re very upset about the situation,” Reed said, “We have an excellent safety record. We’re particularly sorry for the family,” he added. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 19, 1992)
