T. Thompson Final Rites Here Friday
Funeral services for Theodore E. Thompson, 80, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Rev. Rawlin Johnson officiating. Mr. Thompson died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday [March 9, 1965] at Holy Family Hospital after a six month illness.

Burial will be in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home Thursday and until time of services Friday.

Mr. Thompson was born in Leland, Ill., Nov. 17, 1884 [per gravestone, 1886], the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Thompson. He received his education in schools there and was married Jan. 17, 1920 to Hazel Huffman at Fairmont.

They came to Emmet County in 1930 and had lived in and around Estherville since that time. Mrs. Thompson died in 1954.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Harry (Vera) Gram of Armstrong, Mrs. George (Dorothy) Brandt of Humboldt, Mrs. Charles (Angie) McLane and Mrs. Dale (Maxine) Carlson, both of Estherville; three sons, Harold of Little Falls, Minn., Maurice of Grundy Center ad Donald of Des Moines.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Alice Spear of Yacolt, Wash., and Mrs. Sadie Tweedt of Ellsworth; two brothers, Clarence Thompson of Williams and Porter Thompson of Story City; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 10, 1965)
