Estherville Woman’s Rites Set
Estherville – Mrs. Ruth Tanhoff, 76, Estherville, died about 4 p.m. May 20 in Rosewood Manor where she had been a resident for about 16 years.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Reese-Henry Chapel in Estherville, with the Rev. Val Hauck officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home until time of services.
She was born Oct. 8, 1897 at Austin, Minn., to James and Anna (Colby) Dixon. She was educated in Albert Lea schools, and married to Al Tanhoff at Montevideo, Minn. After their marriage, they lived at Everly, where she was employed as a licensed practical nurse. She did nursing most of her working life.
Survivors include one grandchild and three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Edna Anderson, Estherville, Mrs. Eva Thatcher, Watervliet, Mich., and Mrs. Mabel Elliott of Big Lake, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sons, Kenneth and Paul. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 21, 1974)
