Lela Viola Sweet, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sweet, died Thursday [March 12, 1908] afternoon of spinal meningitis after an illness of two weeks. She was five years of age at the time of her death. Funeral services were held at the family home on Saturday afternoon in charge of Rev. A.C. Droz, of the Free Baptist church, and the little body laid to rest in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
