Services were held on Saturday, March 8, 1997, at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel, Estherville, for Mable N. Swanson, 86, of Estherville. Pastor Dave Meyer officiated. [dod March 5, 1997]

Mable was born on July 16, 1910 in Milan, MO., to Emmet and Mary C. (Rouse) Bradshaw. She received her education in the Emmetsburg schools. On January 31, 1933, she married Marland “Slim” Swanson in Jackson, Minn. After their marriage the couple lived in Estherville.

She was a past member of the Fellowship Tabernacle Church.

Her husband passed away on July 16, 1984. Mable has been a resident of the Rosewood Manor Care Center since 1987.

Survivors include her son, Gary Swanson and his wife, Donna, of Spirit Lake; a granddaughter, Michelle Koenig, Indianapolis, IN.; a grandson, Shawn Swanson, Sioux Falls, S.D., brothers: Ivan Bradshaw and his wife, Ann, of Bullshools, Ark., and Leo Bradshaw and his wife, Everine, of Estherville; and sisters, Ruby Nehring and Opal Holmgren, both of Estherville.

Interment was in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Homes, Inc., were in charge of arrangements. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, March 13, 1997)
