Estherville – Services for Myrtle Lillie Sunde, 77, will be held Thursday at 1:30 pm. at the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Stan Eyberg officiating. Interment will be in the East Side Cemetery. She died Monday, April 22, 1985 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home in Estherville after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Myrtle Paulson was born Oct. 11, 1907 in Swan Lake Township, Emmet County, Iowa, and was the daughter of Simon and Bertha (Nelson) Paulson. She attended country grade school and Estherville High School and graduated in 1926. She attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. On Feb. 25, 1932 she was united in marriage with Oscar C. Sunde at her parents’ home. She lived all her life in Emmet County and taught in country schools and farmed with her husband until they retired in 1965. She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church and the ALCW.

Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Dale (Marian) Nielsen, Sherburn, Minn. and Mrs. Ivan (Janis) Brehmer, Grimes; six sons: Merrill, Glen and Wayne Sunde of Estherville; Verlyn Sunde, Morrison, Colo., Arnold Sunde, Cedar Rapids and Richard Sunde, Rochester, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Jerome Paulson, Perry; two sisters: Mrs. Gladys Larsen, Willard, Mo. and Mrs. Norman (Annie) Egeland, Wallingford.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oct. 10, 1981; her parents; one brother, Paul Paulson, and one sister Mrs. Charles (Mary) Hanson. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 24, 1985)
