Former Local Woman Dies
Mrs. Thoras Peterson is Called at Heron Lake, Minn.; Illness Brief
Mrs. Thoras Peterson, 72, a former resident of Estherville for forty years passed away in the Heron Lake, Minn., hospital, Thursday, Nov.3, 1938 after an illness of one week of pneumonia.She was born in the state of Virginia, December 6, 1866, and given the name of Angeline Fulmer.
Miss Fulmer was united in marriage to Mark Stoffel October 24, 1884 in Crabapple, Ohio, and to them was born two children, Charles Stoffel of this city, and Mrs. Fred Peterson of Heron Lake, MInn. Mr. Stoffel passed away July 6, 1928 and she later married Thoras Peterson of Heron Lake, Minn., where they made their home.
She is survived by her husband, Mr. Thoras Peterson, her son and daughter, five grandchildren, Leo Stoffel of Owatonna, Mrs. Otto Rogers of Spencer, Herman Ellsworth, and Donald Stoffel of Estherville, and one great grandchild, Arnold Rogers of Spencer.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Free Methodist church and burial was in the East Side cemetery.
Pallbearers were Edward Peterson, Lewis Sweet, Lars Fransdal, Frank Doughty, Jim Evans, and Arthur Sifriet all of Estherville. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, November 8, 1938)
