Estherville – Services for Kathryn Emma Stoddard, 83, will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Balm officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. She died Monday, August 10, 1987 at Marian Health Center, Sioux City.

Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral home, 3-9 p.m. Thursday.

She was born December 13, 1903 at Superior, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Wolf) Manthey. She graduated from Estherville High School in 1922. On Nov. 23, 1931, she was united in marriage with Lyle B. Stoddard at Estherville. She lived most of her life in the Superior and Estherville area.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Rebekah Lodge where she served as Past Noble Grand.

Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Roscoe (Marilyn) Waterman, Estherville and Mrs. Martin (Barbara) Balmer, Merrill; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters Frances Manthey and Mrs. Hattie Amdahl both of Estherville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband who died April 18, 1970. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 12, 1987)
