Mrs. Samuel Sorgenfrie [Sorgenfrei] [Divert Peterson Sorgenfrei] died at her home northeast of this city on Thursday, January 5th, after a brief illness of inflammation of the bowels. She was forty years of age at the time of her death and had lived in Emmet county for a number of years. Funeral services were held in the Lutheran church in this city Saturday afternoon and the remains interred in the Lutheran cemetery north of town. A husband and two children are left to mourn her untimely death. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, January 11, 1905)

Mrs. Samuel Sorgenfrie, who lived northwest of the city a few miles, is dead at the age of 40 years. Her illness was bowel trouble and which resulted fatally on January 5th. A husband and two children mourn the loss of a good wife and mother. The family services were held in the Lutheran church in this city on Saturday and the burial made in the cemetery on the northern confines of the city limits.
