George Clymer
Services will be held for George William Clymer, 68, of Estherville on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10:30 am. At St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Richard Birdsall and Rev. Rick Mavis officiating. Interment will be at the East Side Cemetery. Legion of Mary will be at 4:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23 at the funeral home. Parish Vigil Service will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23 at the funeral home. He died Friday, Sept. 20 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral home in Estherville 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23.

He was born Jan. 17, 1923 at Jolly, Iowa, the son of Charles and Era (Ellis) Clymer. He attended Violet Dale Country School east of Wallingford. He married Jeannine D. Bervard on Jan. 16, 1947 in Jackson, Minn. He was a lifelong resident of the Estherville area and farmed until 1965.l He worked at the Emmet Consolidated School from 1965 to 1967. From 1967 to 1970 he drove truck for his brother, Charles Clymer. In 1970 he began working for the city of Estherville where he worked until retiring in 1985.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannine, and one son, Gary Clymer of Estherville; three daughters, Vivian Galusha, Hurst, Texas; Kathleen Hanson, Estherville; and Debra Clymer, Estherville.

Other survivors include one brother, Charles Clymer, Armstrong; three sisters, Bernadine Stifel, Waukee; Mary Anderson, Estherville; and Blanche Juilfs, Pomeroy; and 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 23, 1991)
