George Simpson
George Simpson, 39, a well known farmer of Emmet county, passed away Saturday [March 26, 1938] after a brief illness at the Mayo hospital in Rochester, Minn. Mr. Simpson was taken to Rochester a few days before his death for treatment. His condition was not at that time considered serious.He is survived by his widow and two children, George and Mary, his mother, two brothers and one sister. All were here for the funeral services.
Mr. Simpson was well thought of by all who knew him. He was a good farmer, a fine neighbor and a perfect gentleman.
Funeral service were held on Tuesday from the farm home near Gridley at 1:45 p.m. and from the Presbyterian church in this city at 2:30 p.m. Rev T. Chandler burton of Gruver officiated at the home service and Rev. Claude Fausnaugh at the church service. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery.
