Elza Sidles
Estherville – Services for Elza C. [Clara] Sidles, 84, Sanford, Florida and formerly of Estherville, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the United Methodist Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Tom Balm officiating. Interment will be in the East Side Cemetery. He died Tuesday, March 26, 1985 in Central Florida Regional Hospital, Sanford.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Friday.

He was born March 30, 1900 at Huntington, Ia., the son of John and Dela (Tuttle) Sidles and attended the Huntington School. On June 22, 1924 he was united in marriage with Eva Bombarger at Estherville. Sidles lived all his life in the Huntington and Estherville area. He was a switchman for the Rock Island Railroad for 41 years until his retirement. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Bobby (Elaine) Holl, Sanford, Fla.; two granddaughters: Mrs. Frances Westerfield and Mrs. Elizabeth Galland; three great grandsons: Stephen and Christopher Galland and James Westerfield all of Sanford; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Loftis, Estherville; two brothers: Earl Sidles, Estherville and Lawrence Sidles, Emmetsburg.

He was preceded in death by his wife on March 1, 1981; parents, seven brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 28, 1985)
