Earl Sidles
Estherville – Services for Earl [Osman] Sidles, 83, formerly of Estherville, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with the Rev. Tom Dettmer officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. He died Sunday, August 16, 1992 at Longhouse Care center at Spencer.

He was born Dec. 21, 1908 at Huntington, Iowa, the son of John and Della (Tuttle) Sidles and attended country schools near Huntington. On Dec. 31, 1929, he was united in marriage with Ethel Bielharz at the Little Brown Church at Nashua. The couple farmed near Huntington following their marriage. They later moved to Estherville where he continued to farm and was employed by Hogeman and Rohlin Construction Company. They also lived at Terril and he moved to Spencer in 1985. Mrs. Sidles died in 1961. He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Huntington.

Survivors include two sons: Don Sidles, Spencer and Ron Sidles, Graettinger; one daughter, Deloris Johnson, Coon Rapids, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one sister, Dorothy Loftis, Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents; ten brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 19, 1992)
