Funeral services for Lottie Adella Sewick, 91, of Spirit Lake, were held Tueday, Sept. 8, 1:30 p.m., at the United Methodist Church, in Spirit Lake, with the Rev. Warren Paige and Rev. Dick Viney officiating.Sewick died of heart failure Friday, Sept. 4, 1981 at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, in Spirit Lake.
Margery Redington, organist, accompanied Mrs. Bev Bergquist, soloist, as she san “In the Garden.” Pallbearers were Tom Underwood, Wayne Northey, Dennis Osborne, Merlin Tritle, Tom Livezey, and James Bonsall. Honorary Bearers were Marv Underwood, Sid Northey, Lyle Gadd, Arnie Van Pelt and Ralph Tritle. Interment was in East Side Cemetery in Estherville, Ia.
Lottie Adella Sewick was born to Adella and Joseph Graham near Webster City, Ia., on Aug. 4, 1890. She attended various country schools.
On Nov. 23, 1911 she married James Arthur Sewick at Burt, Ia., and to this union one child was born.
Lottie was a housewife and a devoted mother and grandmother. In her later years, she and her husband upholstered furniture. She lived in Iowa most of her life.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Lottie’s interests were her family, friends and the church. She loved flowers and sharing with others.
Survivors include her daughter, Lucille, of Estherville, Ia.; one grandson, James May of Des Moines; one great grandson, Richard May, also of Des Moines.
Lottie was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister and her husband.
The Donovan-Leyson funeral home, of Spirit Lake, was in charge of arrangements. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, September 10, 1981)
