James G. Sewick
Services for James G. Sewick, 89, of Spirit Lake were held Wednesday, June 4 at the Tenold Funeral Chapel in Spirit Lake. Rev. Wayne L. Carlson and Rev. Robert P. Phillips presided.

Burial was at East Side Cemetery in Estherville. Pallbearers were: Tom Underwood, Wayne Northey, Dick Jensen, Merlin Tritle, Dennis Osborn and John Maytum. Honorary bearers were: Sid Northey, Marv Underwood, Ralph Tritle, Lyle Gadd, Wayne Dayton and Arnie VanPelt. Tenold Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Sewick died June 2 at his home. He worked as a farmer, mechanic, plumber, custodian and most recently as an upholsterer.

He was born May 2, 1886 to Henry and Laura Sewick at Burt, Iowa. He married Lottie Graham on November 23, 1911 at Burt. They later moved to Elk Mound, Wisc., Lake Park and Spirit Lake. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lottie; one daughter Mrs. Lucille May of Estherville; one grandson, Jim May; one great-grandson, Richard May and several brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parent, two brothers and one sister. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, June 5, 1975)
