Estherville – Services for Mrs. Herbert (Geneva Katherine) Schwidder, 78, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church with Dr. Robert Kunz officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. She died Thursday, May 25, 1989 at her home. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born Oct. 8, 1910 at Goldfield, the daughter of Leon and Christine (Peterson) Sather. She lived in Goldfield, Ocean Park, Calif. and Marshalltown before moving with her parents to Estherville. On Nov. 12, 1938 she married Dominic Novak at Estherville; he died in 1972. On Aug. 28, 1975 she married Herbert Schwidder at Sioux Falls, S.D. She worked at Strube’s Furniture Store; Woodworth’s; J.C. Penney Co. and Anthony’s between 1946-1977 as salesclerk and bookkeeper. She was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Herbert, and a sister Mrs. Florine Anderson, Estherville.

She was preceded in death by her first husband; parents; step-father and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 27, 1989)
