Mrs. V. Schwidder Dies; Funeral to Be Thursday
Mrs. Viola Schwidder, 57, Estherville, died Saturday [January 9, 1971] morning at the Holy Family Hospital. She had been in ill health for the past several years.

She was born June 5, 1913, in Des Moines, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward G. Mott. She received her education in the Spirit Lake schools. On May 5, 1931, she was married to Walter Schwidder in Estherville, and moved to Estherville in 1947.

She was baptized and confirmed in the United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake.

She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Walter (Marge) Howard, Estherville, Norma, Estherville, Mrs. Joe (Elenor) Guy, LuVerne, Iowa, Mrs. Morris (Sandra) Durnell, Emmetsburg, and Linda, Estherville; four sons, Herbert, Estherville, Verne, in the U.S. Navy, Robert, Estherville, and James, Estherville; 17 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant children and an infant grandson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville with the Rev. Richard Pearson officiating. Burial will be in the East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home any time Monday until time of the services on Tuesday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 11, 1971)
