Funeral Rites Conducted for Lawrence Sabo
Funeral services were held yesterday at 1:30 p.m. for Lawrence John Sabo, 60, who died Friday afternoon at his home in Estherville after a lingering illness.Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiated at the service held at Fuhrman Funeral Home. Louis Obye was soloist, and Mrs. Lillian Mauck was organist. Burial was in Eastside Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Cox, Gene Carr, Dale King, Delbert Beauman, Dean Clark, and Arnold Anderson.
Sabo was born Sept. 25, 1908, at Estherville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Sabo. He attended Estherville schools and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith.
He never married. He was a painter by trade.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Edna Nemitz and Mrs. Nelson (Bernette) Wheatley of Estherville, a niece, a nephew and several cousins. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 16, 1969)
