Mrs. Ruhberg Dies Saturday
Mrs. George (Hilja Lydia) Ruhberg, 70, Estherville, died at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 1972, at Holy Family Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past five years.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Richard Headen officiating. Burial will be made in East Side cemetery.

Mrs. Ruhberg was born Oct. 1, 1901, in New York Mills, Minn., to Mr. and Mrs. Esa Hopponen. She was educated in New York Mills schools and at St. Cloud Teachers College. She taught school before her marriage.

She was married to George Ruhberg on Nov. 12, 1923, at Moorhead, Minn. Following their marriage they lived in New York Mills, Velva, N.D., Devils Lake, N.D. and Storden, Minn., before coming to Estherville in 1938. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Ruhberg is survived by her husband, George, of Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. Lowell (Mary Jane) Henry, Estherville; one son, Thomas Ruhberg, Schaumberg, Ill.; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Jalmer Hoppenen, Fergus Falls, Minn., and Vivi Hoppenen, Fargo, N.D.; one sister, Mrs. Clyde Reynolds, Perham, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, William; one grandson, Brian Henry; one brother and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 17, 1972)
