Estherville – Funeral services for George Dewey Ruhberg, 77, Estherville, were held 11 a.m. Monday at the Estherville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Harvey Throop officiating and burial at the East Side Cemetery. Military graveside rites were conducted by the Estherville VFW and American Legion posts. Henry Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Ruhberg, who died Feb. 20 at his home in Estherville, was born June 19, 1898 at Windom, Minn. to Carl and Caroline Jensen and was educated in Storden, Minn. He graduated from the Lake Crystal, Minn. High School and attended the Minnesota School of Business, Minneapolis. He was married to Hilja Lydia Hopponen Nov. 12, 1923 at Moorhead, Minn. He moved to Estherville in 1930 where he owned and operated Ruhberg’s Finnish Steam Bath. Mr. Ruhberg was a veteran of World War I, member of the Presbyterian Church, American Legion and World War I Barracks.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lowell (Mary Jane) Henry, Estherville; one son, Thomas Ruhberg, Schaumberg, Ill.; seven grandchildren; one brother, Willis Ruhberg, White Bear Lake, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Russell Edwards, Albert Lea, Minn.; and Mrs. Pearl Ristvidt, Perry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, one grandchild and three sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 23, 1976)
