Ronald Roehler
Estherville – Services for Ronald John Roehler, 51, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Berger officiating. Interment will be in the East Side Cemetery with full military rites being observed by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. He died Tuesday, March 5, 1985 at Holy Family Hospital.

Roehler was born Sept. 15, 1933 at Northrup, Minn., the son of John Henry and Anna (Laue) Roehler and attended the Northrup School. He served with the United States Navy in the Korean Conflict. On Aug. 30, 1953 he was united in marriage with Phyllis Wunn at Ruthven. The couple moved to Estherville where he worked for John Morrell & Co. --years. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis, Estherville; two sons: John Roehler, Dunnell, Minn. and Scott Roehler, Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Valarie) Pickering Dumas, Tex.; three grandchildren; his mother Mrs. Anna Mitchell, Estherville; three brothers, Merton Roehler, Evansville, Minn., Clarence Mitchell, Estherville and Melvin Mitchell, Dodge Center, Minn.; four sisters, Lois Shaffer, Atwater, Minn.; JoAnn Stinehart, Estherville, Mrs. Larry (Jean) Stinehart, Glendale Ariz. And Mrs. Elmer (Leona) Schmidtke, Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his father, step-father, and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 7, 1985)
