Estherville – Funeral services for Anna Mary Roberts, 79, of Estherville will be held Saturday, Dec. 23 at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church in Estherville, with Dr. N. Gayle Fischer officiating.

Burial will be at the East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home of Estherville on Friday (today) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. She died Wednesday [December 20, 1989] at the Good Samaritan Center.

Anna Mary Miller was born Feb. 22, 1910 in Bigelow, Minn., the daughter of John and Harmka (Poppen) Miller. She went to school in Adrian, Minn., and following high school graduation, went to nursing school in Chicago, Ill.

On Dec. 29, 1930, she married Basil Roberts, Sr., in Worthington, Minn. She and Basil lived in Adrian, Minn. for a few years after they were married before moving to Estherville. She worked as a nurse at different times during her life and also worked as a truck driver. She was a member of First Christian Church, Estherville.

She is survived by two sons, Basil, Jr. (Sonny) and his wife Donna of Estherville and Roy of Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 22, 1989)
