Estherville Man Dies in Arizona
Estherville – Darrell Stewart Roberts, 65, Estherville, died at noon Friday, March 15, in St. Mary’s Hospital, Tucson, Ariz.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Union Baptist Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Val Hauck officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, until noon on Tuesday.

Mr. Roberts was born April 28, 1908 in Plover, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. John Roberts. He was educated in schools at Ayrshire and Osgood. He was employed as a plumber for 15 years in Estherville, then worked 16 years for the post office, retiring in 1970. He served in both the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II.

Surviving are four brothers, Glen Roberts, Daytona Beach, Fla., Donald Roberts, Estherville, John Roberts, Kennewick, Wash., and Marlowe Roberts, St. Paul; one sister, Mrs. Lyman Crane, Dodge Center, Minn.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Serving as pallbearers will be Merle Biery, Robert Biery, Harold Danielson, Max Clark, Sam Torrence and Robert Kinnard. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 18, 1974)
