Set Rites for Basil Roberts, Sr.
Estherville – Basil Roberts Sr., 63, died at his home in Estherville from a heart attack on Tuesday morning, July 16.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Bernard Johnson of the Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be made in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today until time of services.

Mr. Roberts was born Nov. 27, 1910 at Morgantown, Ind., to Oliver and Belle Roberts. He received his education in Everly schools.

On Dec. 29, 1930, he was married to Anna Miller in Worthington, Minn., and they came to Estherville in 1933. He was employed in construction work for Iowa Roadbuilders and, for the past few years, has worked for Holiday Express. He was a member of the Christian Church.

Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife, Anna; two sons, Basil Roberts Jr., and Roy Roberts, both of Estherville; three daughters, Mrs. Martin (Phyllis) Stewart, Graettinger, Mrs. Glen (Sylvia) Bradshaw, Estherville, and Mrs. John (Mary Ann) Murphy, Des Moines; one brother, Cecil Roberts, San Jacinto, Calif.; 18 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and his mother, Mrs. Belle Roberts of Everly.
