Raymond Marvin Roberts
Raymond Marvin Roberts was born in Sioux Rapids, Ia., Sept. 5, 1882, and died at his home in Estherville, Friday, Feb. 24, 1950, at the age of 67 years.

He was married on June 12, 1905, to Florence Wheat of De Smet, S.D., and moved to Graettinger. In 1907 they moved to Lowell, Ind., where he was manager of a tile factory. In 1941 they returned to Iowa, where they settled in Estherville. For 18 years he was employed by the Estherville Grocery company. From 1934 until his retirement he was engaged in the oil business, for part of the time in partnership and for the remainder in business alone. In 1948 he retired from business because of poor health.

He was a member of the Presbyterian church. He was also a member of I.O.O.F. lodge.

Ray was a good friend of all who knew him, and will be sadly missed by his family and the wide circle of friends which he made in business and his long residence in Estherville.

He is survived by his wife, Florence, one son, Leonard, of this city, and a brother, Noah Roberts of Sioux Falls, S.D., and three grandchildren. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 28, 1950)
