William Reid Dies; Services Saturday
William Erle Reid, 58, rural Estherville, died at 9:15 a.m. Aug. 22, 1973, in Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Redeemer Lutheran Church, Estherivlle, with the Rev. Harold Brown officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.

Mr. Reid was born May 11, 1915, in Gruver to Olney and Anna Dohrn Reid. He was educated in Maple Hill School and graduated with the class of 1933. On June 10, 1939, he was married to Margery Wilberg in Ringsted and they farmed near Fenton for three years, then moved to Emmet County where they farmed since. He has also been employed at John Morrell and Co. packing plant for 16 years.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and Estherville Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Margery; one son, Jonathan E. Reid, Minneapolis; two daughters, Mrs. A.N. (Barbara) Wood of Lisbon and Mrs. David A. (Patricia) Gunderson of Albert Lea, Minn.; two grandsons, Jason and Jonathan Wood of Lisbon; his mother Mrs. Anna Reid of Estherville; two sisters, Mrs. Tenner Lilland of Estherville and Mrs. Harlan Broadie of Clearwater, Fla.

His father preceded him in death.

Pallbearers for the services will be his nephews, Mark and Paul Wilberg, Larry Lilland and Tenner Lilland Jr., James and Edward Rost. Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, at any time after 7 p.m. today (Thursday). (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 23, 1973)
