Sieger Planting Services Saturday
Estherville – Funeral services for Sieger Planting, 76, rural Ringsted, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church south of Gruver, with the Rev. Dale Jenson officiating and burial in the East Side Cemetery. He had died Wednesday [January 15, 1975] morning at the Good Samaritan Center.

Mr. Planting was born Aug. 13, 1899 [per cemetery records, 1898] in Holland to Mr. and Mrs. Johannes Planting. He came to the United States in 1914 and was married to Velma Jacobs July 17, 1929 in Estherville. He farmed in the Estherville, Ringsted and Emmetsburg areas until he entered the Good Samaritan Center five-and-a-half years ago. He had been a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church south of Gruver.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Russell, Estherville; Robert, Ringsted; two daughters, Mrs. Roland (Rojean) Jacobsen, Estherville, and Mrs. Andrew (Rozella) Swalve, Bricelyn, Minn.; seven grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Sam Vanderby, Emmetsburg.
