Lawton - Vernon G. Landmesser, 72, formerly of Estherville, died suddenly Wednesday, March 16, 1988 at a Sioux City hospital. Services were held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moville with interment in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery at Estherville. He was born Aug. 25, 1915 at Gilmore City. He was a veteran of World War Two. He married Stella Wilkinson July 3, 1937 in Estherville. He was employed as a carpenter. After his wife died in 1966 he moved to Cherokee and has lived in Lawton the past 13 years. Landmesser is survived by two daughters; Mrs. Lowell (Phyllis) Schaper, Mound, Minn. and Nancy Nelson, Washington; one sister Mrs. Derald (Bernice) Thompson of Spirit Lake. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one brother and one sister. (Unknown newspaper)
