Estherville Man’s Rites on Tuesday
Estherville – George Chester Fisher, 73, Estherville, passed away Saturday afternoon at his home in Estherville.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home with the Rev. Val Hauck officiating and burial in the East Side Cemetery.

Mr. Fisher was born October 15, 1901 in Spirit Lake to Mr. and Mrs. Winfield (Jack) Fisher. He was married to Ethel Pickell Thorsland December 27, 1948 in Jackson, Minn. They then moved to Estherville where he was employed by the Rock Island Railroad until his retirement in 1966. He was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, Francis, Robert and Jackie all of Estherville; three stepchildren, Arnold and Richard Thorsland, Estherville, and Mrs. Joan Smith, Estherville; nine grandchildren; one brother, Ira Fisher, Ft. Dodge; and one sister, Mrs. William (Mildred) Keller, Ft. Dodge.

Mr. Fisher was preceded in death by his parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 25, 1974)
