Mrs. Lew Gruver received word Monday of the death of her sister, Mrs. E.M. Pickell [Mable Shaw], who passed away Sunday [July 21, 1946]. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Gruver, Iowa. (Elgin Echo, Elgin, IA, July 25, 1946)
