M. Philpott, Estherville, Dies at 73
Mary Carola Philpott, 73, Estherville, died at 12:17 a.m. today at Holy Family Hospital as the result of a stroke. She had been in failing health the past ten years.

She was born Nov. 6, 1894 at Mattoon, Ill.

Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Fleshner.

She was educated in Illinois schools and was married Jan. 21, 1913, to Clifton Philpott at Peoria, Ill.

The family moved to Estherville in 1913 and farmed in the Estherville and Terril areas until retirement in 1944.

While her health permitted, she was active in many community clubs and activities. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Estherville.

She is survived by her husband, Clifton, of Estherville; three daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Irma) Rouse, Terrill, Mrs. Albert (Rita) Solmonson, Estherville, and Mrs. Alvin (Edith) Cook, Terril; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ray Young, Mattoon, Ill, Mrs. Lele Kees, Detroit, Mich., and Miss Mabel Fleshner, Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Paul Fleshner, Detroit, Mich., and Dr. Thomas Fleshner of Birch Run, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church. The Rev. Richard Pearson will officiate, with burial in East Side Cemetery. Friend may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, after 9 a.m. Thursday until noon on Friday, when the casket will be taken to the church.
