A resident of Superior and Estherville communities, Mrs. Cornell Olseon, 72, died at her home in Estherville March 1. She had been in failing health for the past year, contracted flu the week before her death. Mrs. Oleson was born March 26, 1880 in Elliot, Ill., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bartelson. Her maiden name was Hilma L. Bartelson. She married Cornell Oleson Feb. 14, 1901, in Elliott and the couple farmed for 48 years. The Olesons observed their golden wedding anniversary here in 1951. They also held a reunion observing their 52nd anniversary last month. They lived in Emmet county for 40 years, farming until October, 1949. Survivors include her husband, three sons, Maurice and Victor, Estherville, and Rev. Chester Oleson, Bird Island, Minn. Funeral services were held last week Wednesday at the Sandin funeral home and at the Estherville Lutheran church. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, March 11, 1953)
