Mrs. Maurice Oleson’s Services Set Wednesday
Estherville – Mrs. Maurice (Norma) Oleson, 64, of Estherville died Monday, Aug. 26, at Holy Family Hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services for Mrs. Oleson will be at the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Harvey Throop will officiate. Burial will be at Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Henry Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Tuesday. The daughter of Charles and Mana Sampson Jackman, she was born May 26, 1910 on a farm near Jackson, Minn. She was educated in Estherville schools, graduating in 1928.

She married Maurice B. Oleson July 20, 1929 at Council Bluffs. They farmed in Emmet County from 1929 until 1969 when they moved into Estherville.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Past Matrons.

Survivors include her husband, Maurice; her mother, Mrs. Mana Jackman of Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. George (Linda) Williams of Bemidji, Minn.; five sons, Chauncey of Lakefield, Minn.; M. Douglas of Jacksonville, Fla.; Richard of Richardson, Tex.; Merrill of Excelsior, Minn.; and Dean of Leneka, Kan.; 20 grandchildren; two sisters, Fern Jackman of Estherville and Mrs. Arline Nelson of Fullerton, Calif.; and two brothers, Lyle Jackman of Des Moines and Merton Jackman of St. Cloud, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles.

Pallbearers will be Ivan Summa, Dale C. Juhl, Marvin Rohlf, Orville Gonnerman, James Fox and Melvin Ellis. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 27, 1974)
